From Bricks and Mortar to Data Systems

The Story Behind Data Heroes Consulting

A lifelong systems engineer turned entrepreneur, Andres Zagarola built Data Heroes Consulting from a passion for solving problems and helping others succeed through technology.

The Spark

The Spark

Andres began his career in the Energy and Construction industry—rotating between construction sites and corporate offices. When asked to map the company’s hiring process, he created a flowchart so effective it permanently changed the way they hired. That single project sparked a lifelong fascination with process design and efficiency.

He realized he didn’t just want to manage systems—he wanted to build them.

Reinvention

After 12 years traveling the world designing and building SaaS systems for one of the world’s largest energy companies, Andres moved to Ellijay, Georgia to spend more time with family, and in the process, decided to take his future into his own hands—becoming a self-employed entrepreneur. He launched a landscaping company, then a property rental business—both successful in spirit but tested by the 2008 economic crash. Nearly out of options, Andres began repairing iPhones professionally and that would change his life and shape his future: Personal Growth and Development.

He learned that mindset IS the difference between failure and breakthrough. Coaching, books, and mentors helped him reframe how he approached business, risk, and life itself.

The Breakthrough

One day, through a connection in his daughter’s cheer community, Andres met someone who needed a custom data solution. He built it and his solutions were being used across multiple global accounts including a leading global facility management provider.

In 2018, Andres officially founded Data Heroes Consulting, bringing together a small, specialized team to deliver customized Excel, Smartsheet and data-centric staff augmentation solutions.

What started as one entrepreneur’s side project has evolved into a trusted partner supporting some of the largest organizations in the world.

The Philosophy

Andres's leadership style blends engineering logic with intuition and empathy. He believes in asking "Who can?" instead of "How can I?" - building a company rooted in collaboration, creativity, and accountability.

"Entrepreneurship isn't about doing everything yourself. It's about believing in people - your team, your clients, and your ability to grow together."

His personal mantra: Be 100% responsible for your mindset, your work, and your results.
